Canecão, or Canecão Petrobras, opened in 1967, is one of Rio de Janeiro's best-known music venues. The fruit of a Sao Paulo entrepreneur's vision and at first called simply Canecão (meaning "big mug"), it pioneered the concept of a beer house with great shows in Rio.
Over the years, Canecão Petrobras has been through several remodeling projects which have rendered it more comfortable and technically advanced.
