Magic City, a leisure complex surrounded by hills and remnants of Atlantic Forest in Suzano, a city less than 50 miles from São Paulo, is a great option for family travel in Brazil.

Suzano (pop. 268,777), a city in the metropolitan São Paulo area known for its factories, poinsettia culture and history in Japanese immigration, is home to Magic City.

The leisure complex features an amusement park, a water park, a mini farm, an adventure park, and a fishing pond.

Visitors can choose from two restaurants and seven snack bars. The Magic City convenience store sells cheese, homemade sweets, and wine.

There is also a hotel - Pousada Magic City - with 63 apartments. All meals are included in the fare.

Water Park

Attractions at the Magic City water parks include a 65-foot Kamikaze water slide, kids' water toboggans and pools, hot pools and a water playground, totalling over 2.5 million liters of water.

A viking boat, wild rides with names such as Twister, Skrambler and Rotor, plus milder attractions such as bumping cars and a balloon carousel for young ones can be found in Magic City's amusement park area.

Adventure Park

Get your kicks on the climbing wall, canopy walk, rappel and trails in the adventure park. Options for kids are enticing, with a mini-extreme trail, a junior climbing wall, and a trampoline.

Adventure park activities are not included on the day pass and must be scheduled in advance.

Fishing and Mini Farm

Among the fish you can catch in the Magic City pesque e pague (fish & pay) lake are tilapia, common carp, pacu (Piaractus mesopotamicus), and catfish.

For a bit more of contact with São Paulo rural life, enjoy the mini farm, with animals and an organic vegetable garden.
