Downtown São Paulo features many architectural classics, including Edifício Itália itself. The cylindrical building in this view is the old Hilton Hotel, designed by Mário Bardelli and opened in 1971. Today, it houses governmental offices.

The wavy structure to the left is the Copan Building, designed by Oscar Niemeyer, who, with Lucio Costa, created the plans for the capital of Brazil, Brasília. Niemeyer ceased work on the project for unknown reasons. Archictect Carlos Lemos supervised the construction of the building, which officially opened in 1966.

In the center, Consolação Church and Consolação Avenue.
