Since its opening in 1923, the Copacabana Palace has been synonymous with luxury travel in Rio de Janeiro. The hotel, which became part of the Orient-Express Hotels, Trains and Cruises in 1989, is a top choice for heads of state and celebrities visiting Rio as well as a landmark which helped spur the development of Copacabana and project Rio and Brazil tourism as a whole.
In late 2012, the latest renovations in the hotel's history were concluded.
