Triple M, one of Brazil's top travel agencies, has released Rio de Janeiro Carnival 2009 packages. All prices are subject to change and travelers must e-mail Triple M to confirm them.
Hotel Packages (Carnival Parade Tickets Not Included)
The Economy Package (Feb.20, 21 or 22 to Feb.25, 26 or 27) includes a hotel in downtown Rio or in Zona Sul (or South Side - the beach area where Copacabana and Ipanema are located); transfers from and to the airport; transfer to and from the Sambódromo on Feb. 22 or 23; a 4-hour city tour.
The Economy Package price is R$ 212,00/person/day.
The All Special Package, an upgraded version of the Economy Package, includes a 4-hour tour to bloco street Carnival in Ipanema.
The All Special price is R$ 292,00/person/day.

Carnival Tickets

Packages include a ticket to the parade (top parades are on Sunday, Feb.22 and Monday, Feb. 23); transfers and guide services.
Individual Carnival ticket prices range from R$360,00 to R$3.150,00 for a top parade. Saturday parade tickets are more affordable.
As of this writing, Liesa - the League of Independent Samba Schools, which controls the top samba schools and Carnival parades in Rio, has not released 2009 prices yet.
