Beach Park, in Ceará, stands a cut above other Brazil water parks. The Beach Park complex, located less than 10 miles south of Fortaleza in Aquiraz, has a resort, a beach leisure area with a spa, and condos besides the water park itself.
This Brazil water park pioneer, which opened in 1989 with three water slides, is now home to extreme attractions of which the most challenging is the Insano (you know what that means). Insano consists of a four to five-second, 134.5-foot drop at 65 mph.
Beach Park also has moderate rides, attractions for kids and two wave pools, one of them for bodyboarding (boards are provided by the park).
Services include:
- Bilingual staff in the high season (late December to the end of Carnival; July)
- A clinic with an ambulance, a defibrillator, and a team consisting of a doctor, a nurse and an assistant nurse
- Adapted restrooms and staff trained to instruct customers with special needs as to equipment safety (but remember bilingual staff availability)
- A buffet restaurant
- Four snack bars
- Snack carts
- Lockers (about $4 plus a $11 deposit)
- Stroller rents
- Diaper changing stations.

Beach Park Praia:
You don't need to pay water park tickets to enjoy the Beach Park area on Porto das Dunas Beach.
You can have kitesurfing lessons, spend some time in the massage tent, have regional food and ice cream at the restaurant and shops while at one of the most beautiful beaches in Aquiraz.
Beach Park Suites Resort and Acqua Resort are the two hotels within the Beach Park complex. Some of the perks for families with kids are a Kids' Club at Park Suites and an artificial river connecting Acqua to the water park. Ask about children's activities for guests held at the park before opening hours.
Meals for babies can be specially prepared upon request and babysitting services can be scheduled from a third-party provider.

A few other Aquiraz hotels are very close to Beach Park. Located inside a gated community, the Aquaville Resort has artificial rivers with islands and sports facilities which are open to guests for a separate fee.
The Kalamari is less exotic, but also comfortable and more affordable. Activities for kids are a plus at the Oceani Resort.
Aquiraz used to be the capital of Ceará. Aquiraz beaches are postcard-perfect symbols of Ceará beauty, with long, sweeping stretches of sand and jangadas, or sailing rafts.
Don't miss Centro das Rendeiras, or the Lacemaker Center on Prainha. Ceará lace is among the most famous in Brazil.
