Amazônia Gold Overview
Freeway created the Amazônia Gold tour based on feedback from Brazilian and international tourists. The six-day land and river tour encompasses some of the key experiences travelers can enjoy in the Amazon.
The program includes daytime and nighttime canoe tours with piranha fishing and alligator sightings; guided jungle trekking amidst gigantic trees and a profusion of orchids and bromeliads; a stay at Hotel Tropical, on the Negro River; a stay at the Amazon Ecopark Jungle Lodge; visits to riverside communities; and a tour of the meeting of the waters, where the reddish Solimões River and dark Negro River meet and run alongside each other as they form the Amazon River.
Prices start from R$ 3,908 (see the daily dollar-real exchange rate).
Amazon Clipper Premium
River excursions in the Amazônia Gold tour are taken aboard the Amazon Clipper Premium, a boat hotel with a capacity for 32 passengers, comfortable cabins and English-speaking crew members.
Land Accommodations
In Manaus, travelers will stay at Hotel Tropical, the best hotel in town. Amazon Ecopark, one of the top Amazon Jungle Lodges in Brazil, is in charge of jungle accommodations and tours. The lodge is famous for the Monkey Jungle, a center for the rehabilitation of primates where visitors are allowed to see the animals up close in their natural habitat during feeding time.
