Brazil has confirmed a visa exemption for HKSAR (Hong Kong Special Administrative Region) passport holders for visits up to 90 days.

The long awaited measure, which came into effect on October 22, 2008, honors a 2005 Brazil-Hong Kong exemption agreement which, among other things, establishes mutual visa exemptions for visits up to 90 days.

In a press release issued by the Hong Kong government, a spokesperson celebrated the arrangement, saying it means "greater convenience for HKSAR passport holders and helps promote trade, business and tourism links between Hong Kong and the Federative Republic of Brazil."

If you're an HKSAR passport holder residing in the US, you can obtain more information about Brazil Travel from the Brazil Consulate in your area. If you currently live in Hong Kong, you can refer to the Consulate General of Brazil in Hong Kong and Macau for further questions about Brazil Travel.
