The Boulevard Outside the Coffee Museum

Restoration of the Coffee Palace was concluded in 1998, as part of the revitalization of the downtown area. Outside the museum, on Rua XV de Novembro, or November 15th Street, the coffee theme is present in the decorative coffee bean pattern of the boulevard pavement.

The area around the museum thrives on Friday nights, when bars and snack bars have tables outside and bands play live. However, on a Sunday afternoon such as the one when this photo was taken, when most businesses are closed and a lot of people are on the beach toasting in the sun, the streets are quite empty. It is advisable to walk around in a group.
