Fazenda Cachoeira Grande, one of the restored coffee farms dating back to the 19th-century Coffee Cycle in the Paraíba River Valley, is located in the scenic Vassouras countryside, not far from Rio de Janeiro.
The farm is a member of Preservale, an institute dedicated to the preservation of the Paraíba River Valley cultural heritage, and of Fazendas do Brasil, a Portugal/Brazil association of fine country lodging.
