The Roteiros de Charme Association:
Roteiros de Charme (www.roteirosdecharme.com.br) is an association which groups outstanding hotels in beautiful areas of Brazil. The association is a member of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).
Membership Requirements:
In order to become a member of Roteiros de Charme, a hotel or inn has to go through a stringent application process. They must fulfill high criteria in regard to facilities, level of comfort, services, location and integration with the local environment.
The Hotels and Inns:
Roteiros de Charme hotels and inns are often featured on independent lists of charm accommodations issued by major reference sources such as Guia 4 Rodas.
Some are beach hotels like Quinta do Bucanero, on Praia do Rosa, one of the most beautiful beaches in the southern state of Santa Catarina and one of the best places in Brazil for whale watching. Others are mountain getaways such as Hotel Rosa dos Ventos, in the outskirts of Teresópolis, a pleasant town in the hills near Rio.
Historic hotels such as Solar da Ponte, in colonial Tiradentes, in Minas Gerais, are also among the association's members.
