Three of the most important references in Brazilian travel journalism - Viaje Aqui, Viagem e Turismo and Guia Quatro Rodas, all published by Editora Abril, have teamed up and launched a contest to choose the most beautiful deserted beach in Brazil. If you've been to Brazil and left no sandy patch unturned, this is your chance to vote for your favorite beach.
Voting ends on April 30, 2008. Results will be published on Viaje Aqui and in the other publications involved.
The list of candidates demonstrates how pristine nature benefits from a human hesitation in face of vicious dirt roads, starving mosquitoes, slippery leaf-carpeted trails and a total absence of campgrounds, bathrooms and fast food stands. The ones who are persistent enough to reach the prize tend to honor and preserve it.
