Leblon is one of the most attractive beaches and neighborhoods in Rio de Janeiro. This virtual walking tour takes you from Rua Cupertino Durão, the street where the Lemon Spirit Hostel is located, to the west end of Leblon, where you can walk a little way up Avemida Niemeyer and see the whole beach from a lookout point.
This tour covers about 11 blocks and can be taken if 45 minutes, at a very leisurely pace, with time for a drink of fresh coconut water and lots of photos, of course!
Before we start, you may want to look up Rua Cupertino Durão in Google Maps. You'll see that if you walk east on Avenida Delfim Moreira, which borders the beach, you'll be in Ipanema - which is one continuous line with Leblon - after about eight blocks. In Ipanema, Avenida Delfim Moreira changes its name to Vieira Souto.
