Feira Hippie de Ipanema
Traditional Brazilian Crafts

By , About.com Guide

Started by a group of hippie and alternative Rio de Janeiro locals in 1968, Ipanema's Hippie Fair has been going strong without interruptions every Sunday since then.

Open from 7a-7p, the fair is one of the best places in Rio to buy souvenirs. It's popular among international tourists as well as cariocas.

The booths pictured in this gallery offer light and easy-to-pack crafts with a genuine folk and traditional appeal.
