F Design Hostel Opens in Salvador, Brazil

By November 6, 2012

A hostel can have loads of style. F Design Hostel, which opened earlier this month in the Rio Vermelho district in Salvador, proves the point beautifully.

The concept dorms and suites are fun. The hostel has a lookout point from which you can sweep your gaze over Rio Vermelho all the way to the Atlantic Ocean. There's a nice little deck with an infinity edge pool.

You can socialize or find a quiet spot (such as this reading room) in the many common areas.

Even the collective bathrooms are cute.

The hostel is owned by Adriano Medeiros, a hotel industry pro, and Luiz Fernando Guimarães, a popular Brazilian actor with a great talent for comedy, in his first venture in the field. The notion that his good vibes will rub off on the place (as in liking B-52s music and feeling upbeat just by looking at Kate Pierson's Lazy Meadows and Lazy Desert website) is making my day.

The hostel  is the latest good news in a wave of luxury and boutique places to stay opened in recent years in delightful Salvador.
