Fundição Progresso, in Lapa, one of Rio's very best nightlife spots, is sizzling this weekend with a Carnival schedule.

If you're in town, add this to your to-do fun list:

• Tonight: Monobloco rehearsal
• Tomorrow: Bangalafumenga rehearsal (last rehearsal before Carnival, and with a circus theme)
• Sunday: Marchinha Contest Grand Finals and Carnival Ball
