One of the top events in Brazil Carnival could still be within your reach: earlier today, 2,000 of the 16,000 tickets to this year's Municipal Ball in Recife (Feb.11) were still available at the points of sale in local shopping malls.
This year, all the tables to this gala at the Chevrolet Hall sold out in three hours. The 2012 edition - the 48th - is commemorating Alceu Valença, a Brazil music great who will be performing at the party, and artist Zé Cláudio. The hall's decorations will all be inspired in his works.
If you will be in Recife on Feb.11, ask your hotel if they can purchase the tickets for you, or contact local receptive tour agencies such as Luck Receptivo.
