Official Nude Beaches in Brazil

Friday July 25, 2008

Many international travelers may have wondered why topless is still taboo and why there are so few nude beaches in Brazil. Meanwhile, Brazilian naturists question why official support for their cause is so slow, compared to tolerance for the unbridled exhibitionism of Carnival - and since Brazilian beachwear often provides minimal coverage anyway.

Although there are many unofficial nude beaches in Brazil, FBrN - the Brazilian Federation of Naturism - alerts beachgoers about the risks of sharing them with people who can't understand the ethics of naturism.

If that leaves travelers scarce options, they can at least expect to enjoy a beautiful, select group of nude beaches in Brazil.
