The statue of Christ the Redeemer on Corcovado, in Rio de Janeiro, is about to enter its first summer since being voted one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Regardless of the controversial global poll, the breathtaking view of Rio below the statue is something no visitor to Rio should miss.
If you’re going to Rio this summer (December-March in Brazil), keep in mind that it's the area’s rainiest season. To improve your chances of seeing more than the statue’s pedestal, take my advice : If the day rises clear and bright, leave the beach for later and go. If you plan your Rio travel carefully, you’ll be amazed at how much you can do in one day.
